Patty Calvo, 78, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Patty was born on March 2, 1938 in Grand Island to Francis and Ethel (VanBibber) Perkins. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1956.

She married Robert Evers. They later divorced. She married Anthony Calvo on October 29, 1964. They travelled widely and settled in Grand Island in 1985. Patty worked at the Saddle Club for 14 years, the VFW, and Knickrehm School lunchroom. She was a staunch Republican and people-loving person; who also loved her animals and flowers.

Patty is survived by granddaughter: Angela (Michael) Butts of Rapid City, SD; brother: Kenneth (Susie) Perkins of Grand Island; son-in-law: Rick Zerr of Ocean Shores, WA; and sisters-in-law: Alberta Perkins, Lisa Perkins both of Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Anthony Calvo; daughter: Kim Zerr; brothers: Charles Perkins, Francis Perkins, Jr., Jim Perkins; and sister: Maude Walters.


Patty Calvo, 78, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Interment will be prior to the service at 10:00 AM at Grand Island City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
