Phyllis Scott, 86, of Grand Island died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Wood River.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. The Reverend Jay Vetter will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 pm Saturday in the Naponee Cemetery in Naponee, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Donor's Choice.
Phyllis Helen Goodell was born January 25, 1924 to Orval B. and Mildred M. (Weber) Goodell in Edgemont, S.D. She attended school in Arkansas and Nebraska.
On June 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Roland G. Scott in Adams, NE. The couple lived in Lincoln until 1942 when they moved to Grand Island. Phyllis was employed by Hesteds and Woolworths department stores. She then went to work for Hall County for more than 22 years, mostly in the Register of Deeds office.
In 1974 the couple moved to Franklin, NC and returned to Grand Island in 1997. Mr. Scott preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Carol and David Voss of Cairo, a daughter-in-law Rowena (JC) Bruton of Corpus Christi, TX, granddaughters Stephanie Voss of Lincoln, Charlene Gibson of Germany, and Melissa (Rick) Saenz of Kingsville, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Bobby, infant sister Betty, her husband Roland, and a son Daniel in 1998.
