Coleen R. Fagan, 63 of Grand Island, died at home Thursday, May 21, 2015.

Coleen was born on September 10, 1951 at Grand Island to Robert and Erma (Buchfinck) Clausen. She grew up in Grand Island where she attended District 4 Country School and graduated from Grand Island Northwest High School in 1969. She graduated from Hasting College in 1973 with Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.
She was united in marriage to Jim Fagan on August 5, 1972 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The couple made their home on a farm northeast of Cairo, until moving to Grand Island in 1987.  Mrs. Fagan taught first grade at Seedling Mile and Newell Elementary for 32 years. She later earned her E.L.A. Endorsement and taught at Howard Elementary for six years. Coleen retired in 2012 after being diagnosed with cancer.
Coleen was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Doniphan where she was active in L.W.M.L. and also belonged to Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. Coleen enjoyed gardening, reading and volunteering at the Platte River Crane Trust and the Edith Abbott Library.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Jim Fagan of Grand Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tina Fagan, and their children, Connor and Carson, all of Greeley, CO; a daughter and son-in-law, Erin and John Linn, and their children, Avery and Oliver, all of Lincoln; her father, Bob Clausen of Grand Island; two brothers, Ken Clausen of Grand Island and Curt and his wife Des Clausen of Grimes, IA.
She is also survived by a sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, Dian and Roger Eigenberg of Hastings; Tom and Julie Fagan of Cairo and Gary Fagan of Wood River; nieces and nephews, Adam (Amber) Clausen, Dr. Kathy Clausen, Logan Clausen, Zach Clausen, Lindsey (Josh) Hadenfeldt, Dr. Michael Eigenberg, Dr. Andrea (Dr. Nate) Bolen, Travis (Traci) Fagan, Shannie (Casey) Moeller; an aunt, Louise (Wiley) Rowan of Celina, TX; and several cousins.
Coleen was preceded in death by her mother, Erma; an uncle, George Clausen; and sister-in-law, Karen Clausen.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Reverend Rod Armon will officiate. Visitation will be from Tuesday, May 26, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5:00 t 7:00 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island.
