Raymond "Dean" Entrekin, 84, of Grand Island passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30AM Tuesday April 2nd at Third City Christian Church in Grand Island with Pastor Scott Jones officiating.
Dean was born on December 3, 1934 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Jesse and Elsie (Conrad) Entrekin. He married Joyce A. Briggs on June 20, 1955 in Gering, Nebraska and to this union had three children; Debra, Stephen and Kalon.
He attended high school in Gering, Nebraska at Gering High School. He then attended College at Minnesota Bible College graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Ministry, and Graduate School at Lincoln Christian Seminary of Lincoln, Illinois.
Dean ministered to several churches throughout Illinois and Nebraska and was the state evangelist at large for the state of Nebraska. He also served as pianist at Palmer church in Nebraska for several years, as well as Third City Christian Church in Grand Island.
He enjoyed playing piano and singing at church, he also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and spending time with family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Debra and Warren Micale of Prescott Valley, AZ, Stephen and JoAnn Entrekin of Belleville, IL and Kalon and Cheri Entrekin of Norfolk, NE; a brother, Richard and wife Patsy Entrekin of Hart, TX; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded by his parents; wife, Joyce; a brother, Robert Entrekin; and a sister, Mary Beth Berquist.
