Ruby Cargill, 83, of Grand Island, passed away, June 14, 2026.

A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 a.m. July 3, 2026 at United Congregational Church in Grand Island with Pastor Andy Springer officiating. Ruby Cargill was born on August 5, 1942 to Ed and Blanche (Hanousek) Eickhoff in Grand Island, NE. She grew up in Wood River and attended Wood River High School where she graduated in 1961. She was a telephone operator and business woman. She owned two bars and several different rental properties.

She enjoyed pie making, cross stitching, stained glass, plants and traveling. She loved to be around family and people. She was a fun-loving person.

Ruby is survived by her children, John (Kristine) Blue, of Grand Island, NE, Anjanette Blue, of Omaha, NE; son-in-law, Keith Keeler, of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren, Lindsey (Tim) Smith, of Carter Lake, IA; step-granddaughter, Amanda Keeler; great-granddaughter, Autumn Garrison, of Grand Island, NE.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Blanche Eickhoff; brother, Leland Eickhoff; sister, Betty Critel; husband, Dell Cargill; son, Robert Blue; granddaughters, Courtney Blue and Ashley Blue.
