Obituary

Sharon Lynn Conley, 79, of North Loup passed away peacefully on September 28, 2015 at the Greeley Care Home.  Sharon's wishes were to be cremated.
Sharon was born September 5, 1936 in Omaha.  Her parents were Wilfred (Steve) H. and Edith Stevens.  Survivors of the immediate family include her husband Ed, daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Ken Anthony, son Steven Conley, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Sharon graduated from Pratt High School in Omaha.  She married Ed in Omaha where they helped her folks run the Rest Haven Nursing Home.  They later moved to Muncie, Indiana.
In 1967 they had moved back to Nebraska where they settled in Elba.  Initially Sharon worked for the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant.  Then they purchased the Elba Club where the drinks were strong, the steaks were good eating, and the music was lively on Saturday nights!  With many of the patrons she would play cards or shoot pool with them in the afternoons.  After the Elba Club, Sharon worked and helped her father, Steve, in his Insurance business.  Later she worked for Haynes Insurance in Grand Island.
Some of Sharon's other passions through the years were ceramics, crocheting, and bowling.  She also enjoyed creating stained glass pieces, her favorites were the standing 3-D Kachina designs.  The flower garden and lawn were a thing of pride and joy for her.  Sharon loved all flowers, although admittedly she despised the little yellow ones they call dandelions!  Her mission in life was to eradicate all weeds if at all possible.
Sharon was also there to help anyone when they needed it.  Whether fixing food or cleanup for events, funerals, etc.  As her parents aged in Arizona she went to live and care for them until their passing.  Sharon did the same for her brother Doug until he passed from cancer.

A Memorial Gathering is planned for the 1st of November from 11:30-2:00 p.m. at the North Loup Community Hall.  Please stop by to share a memory or two and a bite to eat. In luau of flowers, the family would like to request memorials be donated in Sharon's name to the Valley County Hospice.
