Shawn Hernandez, 45, of Grand Island, died July 12, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Rhodes officiating. Shawn was born February 12, 1967 to Joseph and Ruth (Kreider) Scripter in Grand Island. She was raised in Grand Island and attended school there. She finished cosmetology school and worked as a beautician at Cost Cutter and Alda Hairstylists. She also worked a short time at the Grand Island Veteran's Home. She married Rodney Clark in 1985. To this marriage, son, Christopher was born. In 2009, she married Bobby Hernandez.
She enjoyed making jewelry, drawing, and writing poetry. Shawn was a very caring person with a kind heart, helping people whenever she could. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She will be missed by many people that loved her dearly.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Hernandez of Grand Island; son, Christopher (Chrisser) Clark of Grand Island; brothers-in-law, Richie (Robin) Hernandez of IA, Jamie Hernandez of NE, Paul (Barbara) Hernandez of Grand Island, Tony Hernandez of NE; sisters-in-law, Tracy (Eddie) Collins of NE, Tina Hernandez of IA; mother-in-law, Ruth Hernandez of IA; uncle, Charles Scripter of NE; former husband, Rodney Clark of Grand Island; and many other relatives and friends.
Shawn was preceded in death by her parents; step-mom, Thelma Scripter; and father-in-law, Richard Hernandez.
