Shelly Renee Boyle, 51, of Grand Island, finished her race on Monday, May 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Thursday June 2 at Peace Lutheran Church with Reverend Mike Reiners officiating. Visitation with family present will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel. Private family burial of ashes will be at a later date.
Shelly was born on January 11, 1965 to Duane L. and Jeanie K. (Follette) Henke. She grew up in Columbus, NE and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1983. Shelly attended The Beauty School of Expertise in Grand Island, graduating in 1984.
She was united in marriage to Jeff Boyle on August 21, 1991 at Grand Island, NE. Shelly loved acting and acted in the Piccadilly Dinner Theatre from 1985 to 1992. She worked for Shear Elegance from 1984 to 1993 when the family moved to Wyoming for Jeff's work. Shelly found a love for running there and later went on to run 2 marathons in 1997 and 2000. The family moved back to Grand Island in 1999 where she again worked for Shear Elegance and later the business moved and became Elle Salon and Spa where she worked until April of 2016.
She enjoyed working, where she was surrounded by her friends and especially loved the time she spent with her Aunt Jan. It was her social time and her support. She loved running and staying active, baking and cooking, visiting the family farm, Perkins Restaurant and especially loved her family and her cats. She attended Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff; a son and his wife, Cole and Giana of Lincoln, a daughter Abby of Grand Island; her parents, Duane L. "Bud" and Jeanie K. Henke of Creston, NE; sister, Tamara Anderson of Columbus; and brothers, Mike and Diane Henke of Columbus, Trent and Traci Henke of Bennington, NE and her special added family, Chelsey and Matt McMullen and their children Brooklynn and Barrett.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
