Stella Rivera was born on April 9, 1956 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Eusebio and Guadalupe (Cedillo) Castañeda. She married Joseph N. Rivera on June 16, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. She will be remembered as a beloved courageous wonderful woman of God, loving wife, mother, grandmother; who touched many lives through her faith.
Stella Rivera, age 59, of Grand Island, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Medical   Center.
She is survived by her husband Joseph of Grand Island, daughters: Angela "YiYa" Rivera, Anita Rivera; her sons: José "Mijo" (Amanda) Rivera, Daniel (Elia) Rivera and Alexander Rivera; her grandchildren, Cruzito Salazar, Bréton Rivera, Xander Rivera, Daniel Rivera, Elijah (Pooki) Medrano, Jesiah Rivera, Lilyiana Rivera, Isaiah Zapata, Eunique Zapata all of Grand Island.
Additional survivors include her brothers: Tony Castañeda of Grand Island, Joe Castañeda of Omaha, sisters: Elena (Manuel) DeLuna of Omaha, Celia (Jose) Arrieta of Phoenix, AZ, Irene (Jesse) Guzman of San Antonio, TX, Lydia DeLuna, Mary Castañeda, Rita (Tony) DeLeon all of Omaha, NE, Ida Hytche of Houston, TX, Nancy (John) Contreras of Omaha, father and mother-in-law: Zenon (Abigail) Rivera Jr., sister-in-law: Rosie Rivera, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Manuel (Christy)    Rivera, Zenon (Kathy) Rivera III, Mario (Linda) Rivera all of Grand Island, Eddie Rivera of Lincoln, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Jane   Castillo, and a brother-in-law Victor DeLuna.

Stella Rivera, age 59, of Grand Island, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Medical Center. Her services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Abundant Life Christian Center, Pastor Tim Rust will officiate and interment will take place in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 from noon to 8pm with family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel.
