Sylvia Sue Hehnke Johnson, 75 of Grand Island, passed away at home Friday Night November 25, 2016 after her courageous battle with cancer under the awesome care of AseraCare Hospice.
Memorial service will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend James Golka officiating. Visitation will be from 2pm until service time.

Sylvia was born to Oscar Veit (OV) Hehnke and Helen Lenore (Harrison) Hehnke December 30, 1940 at Saint Francis Hospital. She attended Saint Mary's School and Grand Island Senior High.
Sylvia married Allan F. Spiehs on July 21, 1962. Their marriage blessed her with her three children: Storm, Peter and Tory. She later married Paul Bradley (Brad) Johnson.
Throughout her life, Sylvia worked at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center, Grand Island Police Department, Central NE Humane Society, The Grand Island Bottle Shop, Gas N Shop, Carried the GI Daily Independent and Stuhr Museum as a Docent
Sylvia's true love was history and she loved to bring it alive to visitors to the Stuhr Museum on her Docent Tours.
Sylvia is survived by her brother Jerry (Carolyn) Hehnke-Grand Island, NE, sister Mary (Gerry) O'Rourke-Kearney, NE and sister in law Nancy (Nabity) Hehnke-Hastings, NE. Her children Storm (Alvin Bacon) Santiago-Brainerd, MN, Peter (Annie) Spiehs-Kansas City, MO and Tory Carkoski-Lincoln, NE. Her Grandchildren Sayra, Christopher and Josiah all of Brainerd, MN; Adri-Kansas City, MO, Addison-Holloman AFB NM, Dillon-Pearl Harbor, HI and Meagan-Lincoln, NE and Great Grandchild Evelynn-Brainerd, MN, 7 Nieces and Nephews, 9 Great Nieces and Nephews and her friends at Grandview Apartments
She was preceded in death by her parent OV and Lenore Hehnke. Her brother Thomas (Tom) Hehnke, Sister in Law Charlene (Chick) Hehnke and Brad Johnson.
