Theresa Esquitin, 81, of Grand Island passed away, Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Mary Lanning Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, February 2, 2024 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jorge Canela officiating. Visitation will be at 9 am with a Rosary beginning at 10 am. An inurnment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. She was born June 27, 1942 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Consuelo Vasquez. She grew up in Mexico until the age of 8 where they made their way to Grand Island. She was united in marriage to Abelardo Esquitin on February 18, 1962 in Lincoln, NE. After which, the couple lived in various locations due to Military Service. After retirement they moved back to Grand Island where they resided for the remainder of her life.

Theresa lived for her family. She raised her children and grandchildren. She touched the lives of so many. She is loved by the people who loved her family. She impacted everyone she met and didn't meet through the way she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Abelardo Esquitin; son, Richard (Brenda) Esquitin; daughters, Consuelo (Mike) Helzer, Sunday (Rick) Neeman, Angela (Ruben) Luna; grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, Echo, Danielle, Rachel, Appol, Alex, Andrew, Gabbie, Savannah, Richard and Easton; 25 great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Consuelo and Frank Sanchez; sisters, Rita and Gloria; grandson, Nathanael Esquitin.
