Verlyn Jorgensen was born in Hyrum, Utah on September 18, 1936 to Earl Jorgensen and Adola McBride. She married Gary Vandeberg at Grand Junction, Colorado in 1957. The couple traveled extensively due to dad's work with Frontier Airlines and later the Government. They eventually settled in Grand Island, and raised their children here.

Lyn was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in the Primary for many years, teaching children about the gospel. She loved the sisters of the ward so very much, serving them through her callings and so many other ways.

Lyn enjoyed the outdoors, walking, and gardening. In her later years, she added crossword and jigsaw puzzles to her enjoyment.

She is survived by her daughters, Kitty Vandeberg, Connie Armes (Curt Caspar), and son, Mark (Dawn) Vandeberg; sister, Gloy; and brother, Sandford. She has three grandchildren that she absolutely adored, Ann (Corey) Toy, Alex (Brandon) Tjaden, and Eric Armes & Mallory Guinan, and nine great-grandchildren, who were a huge part of her life.

Lyn is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Adola, her husband, Gary, her brother, Theron and her sister, Earlene.

She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
