Vernon Svitak, 90, of Chapman passed away January 10, 2024 at Grand Island Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 10 AM until 11:30 AM at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island. Burial will take place at the Chapman Cemetery following the luncheon. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be directed to www.livson.com. Vernon was born in Grand Island on May 11, 1933 to Adolph and Elsie (Dobish) Svitak. He stayed in the area until after high school when he joined the United States Army. Vern was honorably discharged in 1955. On August 20, 1960 he was united in marriage to Evageline Risan in Ord, NE. To this union they had two sons, Russell and Alan. The couple later moved to the Chapman area where he farmed. He was still farming until his passing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Evageline; sons, Russell (Debra) and Alan (Mary); 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and sister, Virginia Fay.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernest Svitak.
