Victor George Rasmussen was born October 26, 1950 to Alfred Eugene and Josephine Eva (Becker) Rasmussen in Sioux City, Iowa. Vic attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School in Sioux City Iowa. The family relocated to Grand Island Nebraska and Victor graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1969. Vic was a very happy child, who always carried a smile for others. He enjoyed his eight brothers and three sisters, most of the time. We all had a wonderful time growing up together in Sioux City and Grand Island.
After graduation from high school, Vic spent many years working in Grand Island, most notably for Chief Industries. He relocated for a period of time to San Diego for work, returning to Grand Island for several years before taking off again to work as a waste treatment plant operator in Pueblo, Colorado. Once finishing this job, he returned to Grand Island where he worked again in industry until he was laid off. He was an honorable, trustworthy, caring, and sharing man who kept integrity as his focus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Gene Rasmussen, and brother Perry.
He is survived by seven brothers and three sisters: Gene (Pam) Rasmussen of Storm Lake IA, Paula (John) Chicoine of Parker, SD, Deanna Rasmussen of Canon City, CO, Marc (Sherri) Rasmussen of Alpine, CA, Phillip (Diane) Rasmussen of Omaha, NE, Neil (Vicki) Rasmussen of Ruston, LA, Lorna (Ron) Ziller of Tracy, CA, Janice Rasmussen (Sister-in-law) of Tucson, AZ, Tony Rasmussen of Grand Island, Martin (Christy) Rasmussen of Colorado Springs, CO, and Keith (Ruby) Rasmussen of Tucson, AZ.
