Virginia Petsch, 93, of Grand Island, passed away March 30, 2026, at Riverside Lodge in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Destiny Church 4306 US-30, Grand Island, NE 68803 with Timeree Andreasen officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be directed to www.livson.com. Virginia was born April 4, 1932, in Luddell, Kansas to Wencelas and JoHannah (Baumfalk) Hrouda. She grew up in Trenton, Nebraska and graduated from Trenton High School.
She was united in marriage to Lyle Petsch on June 22, 1952, in Denver, Colorado. The couple lived on the farm near Statton, NE. They later moved to McCook and then to Grand Island where they lived happily ever after. Virginia was a homemaker, enjoyed her soaps, especially Young & The Restless. She enjoyed shopping, embroidering, and she had a passion for dancing with her husband. Virginia loved her children and grandchildren very much.
She was a member of the Saddle Club, Elks & Eagles Club. She was an avid Husker fan and loved the girls' volleyball team. Lyle & Virginia loved going to South Dakota, Branson, Missouri and the Colorado mountains.
Virginia is survived by Vivian & Dennis Spiehs from St. Libory, Pamela & Brad Roberts from Wahoo; granddaughters, Angie & Doug Boersen, Amy & Ted Bogosian, Sarah & Luke Splattstoesser, Samantha Ballard & husband, Zach Winter; great-grandchildren, Craig, Amelia, Abby, Landon, Reagan, Ramsey & Theo; great-great-grandson, Jeremiah.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; parents; sister, Evelyn (Gale) Leitner, Betty (Byron) Nolan, infant twin sister, Vivian Marie; son-in-law, Joe Ballard; grandson in-law, Vinny Ramirez; great-grandson, Jacob Boersen.
