Wanda Lagsding, 76, passed away peacefully Friday morning after a two year battle with cancer.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4-6 pm on Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Cremation services were provided by Westlawn Memorial Park. Burial of ashes will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Stuhr Museum.
Mrs. Lagsding was born on September 16, 1934 in Norfolk to Wray A. and Mae (Tichy) Mason. She received her education in Hall County and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1952. Following high school she attended community college and received an associate degree in payroll.
She was united in marriage to John Robert Lagsding on January 20, 1961 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where Wanda worked for Northwestern Bell, Goodwill Industries and Jo-Ann's Fabric and Crafts.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the National Honor Society, the Shmoos, and an associate member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Wanda loved stamping and making greeting cards for all holidays and occasions. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and all sports, especially Husker football. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Wanda is survived by a daughter Shari Newman of Omaha, a son Larry (Anna) Lagsding of Papillion, a son Mike Lagsding of Grand Island, a daughter Barb Austin of Omaha, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents and two brothers, Lee and Dale Mason.
