Yvonne Smith-Renzi, 76 of Grand Island, passed away at Saint Francis Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility, Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Yvonne was born on September 30, 1938 at Grand Island to Alfred and Monica (Bigley) Smith. She grew up in Grand Island where she attended St. Mary's Catholic School where she graduated in 1956. She then received her Nursing Degree from Marymount College in Salina, KS. She moved to Leavenworth, KS and worked at the VA for one year. While there she met her husband Alfred, and they moved to Philadelphia.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Renzi on November 12, 1960 in Philadelphia. The couple made their home in Watertown, NY where they both operated the Oral Surgery practice that Alfred started.  They retired in 1983 and moved to Sarasota, FL.
Yvonne enjoyed flowers, mostly orchids, watching New York Yankee baseball and football, golf and figure skating. She also loved to go to the movies.
Survivors include her sisters and their husbands, Jean Smith, Ann (Jim) Smith-Townsley, and Krista (Jim) Godeker, all of Grand Island, and Kay (Vern) Larson of Giltner, NE; brothers and their wives, Robert (Karla) Smith, Ron (Janet) Smith, Terry Smith and Joel (Lynne) Smith all of Grand Island; nieces, Pam Elstermeier, Jennifer Smith, Melissa England, Becky Hatcher and Nikita Larson; nephews, Glenn Sparks, Michael Sparks, Ron Smith Jr., Rob Smith, Marc Godeker and Bill Meier; and 9 great nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Alfred and her brother Alfred Smith.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2015 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Reverend James Janovec will officiate. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to service time at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Central Catholic High School or the American Cancer Society.
